A psychic is a person who professes an ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses through extrasensory perception or ESP as most of us know it referred to. Or they are said by others to have such abilities. It is also used to describe theatrical performers who use techniques such as prestidigitation, cold reading and hot reading to produce the appearance of such abilities. It can also denote an ability of the mind to influence the world physically and their professed telekinetic powers to do this.
Basically, normal perception of things is done through and with our senses. We know the pot on the stove filled with water will boil over as we can see it. A psychic in turn can predict things happening even if it’s not available through their senses. Not being in the area they would be able to predict a pot will boil over without knowing its there and not having seen it. There are many ways that psychics display their abilities.

Generally they are not using their extrasensory perception to do this. They are relying on the findings produced by the tarot. By what the tarot cards discover they then make their predictions from them. Every card of these tarot decks holds a value or a meaning. Its then dependant on the process to which the reader spreads them. It is then the reader’s interpretation once this is done of the spread, the combination and the cards. They then with this information as they perceive it make their predictions. I feel the difference here between a psychic and a tarot reader is the tarot reader bases their predictions on a deck of cards which each have a predetermined meaning. A psychic does not do this. Even though there are still some that refers to them as the same.
So is there a difference between a psychic and an astrologer? As always you will find some that they say they are the same. Astrology is a system of divination founded that the relative positions of celestial bodies are signs of, or in the eyes of an astrologer, causes of destiny, personality, human affairs and natural events. They feel all that happens in accordance with the sun, moon and planets. The sun, moon and planets make up the primary astrological bodies. The main focus for an astrologer is the location of the 7 planets and where they are in alignment to the rest of the universe. As well where they are in correspondence to the zodiac. The position that all of these are in and how they are in position to everything else will determine their prediction. So understanding this I would see there is a difference yes, yet many feel they are doing the same thing just in a different way.
This may come down to who you ask is there is a difference. I think if you asked a psychic if they felt they were an astrologer they would say no. Their abilities and their predictions are not based on the 7 planets. As I am sure if you asked a psychic if the considered themselves a tarot reader they would say the same. Their predictions are not based on the pre determined meanings of what the tarot says. Yet again I think many not versed in the field would argue that a prediction is a prediction regardless of how it is obtained. They’re very well may be argument to this as well depending on who you ask.
Most important here is the understanding of what a psychic is. Believing in their validity is maybe more of a personal opinion. The fact that remains is there have been many things that psychics have done to prove they are what they say they are .Some people will argue that people that claim they are psychics just have great perception and the ability to read people better than most.
